A Baby Free Weekend

Hello Blog Friends!

It’s been a busy month and I’ve neglected the blog a bit, per the usual! 🙂

A couple of weekends ago, The Hubby and I went to Austin for an adult weekend! This was the first time we’ve left her for more than 1 night!! Of course I missed her and checked in on her often, but it was good for us to have a baby free weekend….and not have to carry the diaper bag around for a couple days. 🙂

This was my first time visiting Austin, so I was excited to check out the city! We got in around dinnertime the first night, so we dropped off our stuff at our rental house and headed out to eat!

I’m seriously always craving Mexican food…cheese and meat, mmmmm!

We found this cute Tex Mex restaurant and I think I ate an entire bowl of queso before the meal arrived. Oops.

After dinner, we walked around a bit and found this cute rooftop with an awesome view of the city. The hubby had some drinks and I sipped on my water before I was back in bed by 11 (which is really late for me!!)

Luckily we woke up to some sunshine!!

I’m obsessed with local coffee shops and was happy we found this one. Mozart’s Coffee is located on Lake Austin and has a huge patio outside- (it’s close to the UT campus so there were a lot of college kids taking over the tables studying). Luckily we found a spot in the sun and took our time people watching and drinking our morning coffee. I love mornings like that. And when did college kids start looking so young?!

After our coffee date, we headed over to South Congress Street to walk around. Since the weather was so gorgeous, we wanted to be outside as much as possible! We found a cute little farmer’s market and walked around there for a bit!

There are food trucks galore in Austin- seriously everywhere. I think you could get away with eating all meals from a food truck!

This one was by far my favorite! Yum!

For dinner that evening we went to the Laundrette. It is tucked away in the middle of a neighborhood and was converted from an old laundromat. Super cute and good food.

The next morning, I was anxious to get back to Miss Charlotte, so we stopped by one more coffee shop before we hit the road.

I love all the fancy lattes!

Of course the weekend went by so fast and we were reunited with this cutie pants before we knew it!

I’m busy enough with teaching Stroller Strides, working at Pure Barre, and keeping up with Charlotte…..well I decided to add something else to my plate! This month I started as a consultant for Rodan+Fields, which is a skincare line created by the two doctors that founded ProActive. It’s been overwhelming, exciting, scary but also really fun so far! {And don’t worry, this blog won’t turn into a Rodan+Fields marketing blog}, I just wanted to share what else is going on in my life and keeping me busy!

I use the products myself and really enjoy them so it’s easy to get behind this company! 🙂 If you are interested or know someone that would be feel free to check out my site listed below. There are products for anything and everything!

Alright blogger friends, that is all for now….hope to be back soon than later with another pregnancy update, I’ll be 28 weeks this weekend!!

Have you taken any weekend trip lately?

Any cities you would like to visit?

My Fall Reading List

I hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend and enjoyed some time with friends and/or family!

We ended up BBQ’ing with friends Saturday and Sunday night. I didn’t eat the healthiest over the weekend, but it’s since it’s a Holiday I figure it’s all calorie free, right??? 😉

This weekend also kicked off the start of College Football! I can’t believe it! I must say Charlie looked adorable in her Washington State gear cheering on her daddy’s team.

This girl has a lot of football watching in her future!

We also took Charlie to church for the first time this weekend! She did a good job and I only had to leave to change her diaper once, so not too bad.

Now onto the meat of the post……my Fall Reading Wishlist!

The first two books are more self-help/self discovery type books, which I have always been drawn to.  You can usually find me reading two books at a time, one fiction and one non fiction. A little weird, I know, but this way I always have a book to go to depending on my mood!!

Rising Strong, Brene Brown

I have heard of this author more and more lately and I think I will really love her stuff. This book delves into human struggles and how we come out of them with courage and bravery. I think I will really like this one!

Carry On Warrior, Glennon Doyle Melton

I think this one will be important for many people to read. With social media nowadays, it is hard to not compare our lives that perfect pinterest photo or fashion blogger’s perfect outfit. This book focuses on letting go of our constant striving for perfection in friendship, marriage or motherhood.

Now onto my fiction book choice! Kate, Amelia’s mother, believes that her15-year old daughter committed suicide, until she receives an anonymous text saying “Amelia didn’t jump.” This one sounds similar to Gone Girl, so I will probably breeze right through it!

Thanks for stopping by friends!

Are there any books you are reading right now?

What did you do over Labor Day weekend?

Photo Dump

I’m a little sad the weekend is overwith 😦 but it was great ‘falling back’ and getting that extra hour and lounging around a little longer yesterday morning.

Here’s a quick life update in pictures. And yes, I finally took some pictures!

I have been a Real Housewives fan way before I moved to Los Angeles. I dorked out and got super excited when hubby said we should go eat here for dinner. The restaurant decor is super classy and it was so quiet inside, I loved the atmosphere.

No Jiggy sightings unfortunately.

Okay it’s been embarrassingly been over a month since I’ve been down to the sand (I know, woe is me). But I’m happy to report I biked down there and got some beach time in. 🙂

Hubby and I woke up absurdly early on Saturday morning (6:15 to be exact, yikes). We wanted to beat the crowds and head up to Hollywood and hike Runyon Canyon. Everything in LA is always super crowded so I figured earlier would be better. And once we got home Paisley and I took a nap!

A little overcast, but still an amazing view of the city.

This picture makes me laugh. We tried about 5 times to get Paisley to look towards the camera. She obviously had other things on her mind apparently. Lol.

The sun finally came out on our way back down.

That’s all for now folks! I am working on a Prenatal Workout to share next week, so stay tuned….

What did you do with your extra hour this weekend?

When In Vegas…

Happy Tuesday All!

Or the case of the Tuesdays, same difference.

It’s always a bit of an adjustment getting back to the ‘ol work routine after some time off.  I feel like it takes an extra day to turn the brain back on. And, I wanted to stop by Starbucks this AM but was running a little late, so that did not happen. Boo!

Anywho I wanted to fill you all in on our Vegas trip. So much fun, but went by WAY too fast. We walked so much that my legs were actually a little sore yesterday, so I don’t feel bad about missing my weekend workouts.

Here’s some pics I took in no particular order: (Sorry the pics are a little blurry, blame the Iphone!)

The pink dress, woo!

MGM pool time. 77 degrees. Perfect

The girls before dinner

Last stop at the pool before leaving

I love walking around Vegas, there is so much to do and see. And when the weather is just right, you can’t beat it!

As fun as vacation is, I am always happy to get back to my sleeping and exercise routine (do I sound old or what?) I took it easy Monday night, but this is my workout plan the rest of the week:

Tuesday: 4 mile run with stairs (I’m doing a stair climb event in 2 weeks, eek, will fill you guys in on the details soon)

Wednesday: At home workout DVD- Mash Up Conditioning. Will be posting a review on this one soon, can’t wait to try it out!

Thursday: 4-5 mile run.

Friday: Rest Day

Saturday: Pop Physique class

Sunday: Hike with a friend

Hope everyone has a great week!!

Seattle Trip Recap

It’s funny how you can anticipate a trip for what seems like such a long time, and then POOF…it’s gone.

Whenever we head back to Seattle the agenda is jammed packed trying to squeeze in visiting family, friends and all of our favorite places.

We were only in town for 4 days, but I was still able to stop at a few of my Seattle favorite spots (and yes most of them revolve around food, don’t judge!)

First stop, Nordstroms Dowtown.

I’m so spoiled by this Nordstrom because all of the ones I’ve been to in California are so small! My mom and I did some damage there while hubby was having lunch with some friends. Love that place!

Ahh, next is the Matador!matador

Hubby and I used to live walking distance from here and we would go often (maybe a little too often). Yummy Tex-Mex food and awesome margaritas! I miss this place!

And then there’s the cupcakes! Another place I used to walk to a little too often. But I figure walking there cancels out the calories, right?

Tutta Bella. Best pizza ever, besides what I’ve had in Europe. Thin crust, non greasy, good cheese….yum, I can eat a whole pizza myself.

I slacked on taking pictures this trip, but here’s a couple of me and my friends.

Next we have Vegas in March with friends (yay!) and hopefully Dallas in May/June to see hubby’s family.

Now I can start planning for those….

Hope you have a great Monday!

Recent Happenings

I just realized I haven’t blogged since before I left for Seattle, woops!

Here’s some pictures to prove how busy I’ve been in my blogging absence 🙂

My trip back to Seattle was jam-packed- I did so much in the 3 days:  went to pike place market, went shopping downtown, spent time with friends and family, and ate a lot of food of course.

Of course the sun came out my last day in town! Figures! So happy I was able to visit, hoping to make another trip back late fall.

This weekend I checked out the Shape Magazine, “Shape up for Summer” event in Hermosa Beach.  I was browsing through last month’s issue and saw an ad for the event and was super excited that I could attend! Of course Jillian’s class was sold out by the time I signed up, but I was able to get into the “Burn & Firm” class taught by Andrea Orbeck- one of the trainers for the Victoria Secret Models.

The weather was perfect for an outdoor workout- a little overcast and about 60 degrees with a breeze.  We didn’t do much upper body exercises during the workout, so basically it was an entire hour of legs and butt- lots of lunges, squats, and plyometrics….I loved it BUT I’m having a difficult time moving around today.

I would have liked to try more classes- they also offered yoga and kickboxing- but everything was filled up by the time I signed up, so I’m lucky I got in!

Nothing beats sweating it out outside right in front of the ocean, it was a great way to start my weekend and it inspired me to write up a new Summer workout- I know I’ve been slacking on that- it’s in the works and I will be sharing one soon!

Have you ever done an outdoor workout class? What did you like or did not like about it??

A Happy Place

I hope everyone has had a great long weekend. We didn’t go out of town or anything, but it’s still been wonderful to have 3 days full of: relaxing, working out, eating, and doing nothing.

Of course, we never sleep in super late with the pup- but I’m slowly getting used to it.  Never thought I would say that.

Anywho, I was able to get in 2 Pop Physique classes (Sat & Sun) AND bike ride today so my body is happy.

Speaking of happy, I was able to make it out to the beach twice this weekend and officially decided that is my “happy place.” Whether I am getting coffee, running, biking, or laying out- everything about the beach is relaxing to me.

008And always so pretty

I feel lucky to live close, so I try to make it there as much as possible either by myself, with a girlfriend, or with the hubby. It’s a place where I can think, not think, people watch, or exercise. Whenever someone asks me “what is your perfect day like?”- it always includes the beach.

I think everyone needs a place to go that can be their own, a place where you can reflect, relax etc. It can be a coffee shop, your favorite place to hike, your spin class, or a room at home. Think about what your happy place is and how often you visit.

This was Paisley this morning after we walked to Starbucks and were waiting for hubby to come back with the drinks. LOL. Never a dull moment with this one.  005

Please share with me your happy place!
