Whew. We made it to Dallas….finally! We don’t get to move into our house for another week, so we are still in a little bit of a transition phase. I wanted to share a few pics I snapped on the drive, which I must say, was entertaining with our little pup.
Are we there yet??
Our first leg of the trip was LA to Phoenix. We have some family there so we were able to break up the drive and spent 4 days with them. We ended up driving through right at sunset and the desert was looking pretty beautiful.
Paisley also had the chance to meet her little cousins for the first time. I was a little worried she’d be jumping all over them, but she was actually really great and tolerated them petting her eyes and pulling her tail well. 🙂
My hubby’s college alum just so happened to be playing in Tempe that weekend, so of course we had to go to the game.
The next leg of our trip was from Phoenix to Albuquerque. And Brrr. I think it was a whopping 19 degrees when we arrived that evening (we are not in LA anymore, Todo). Unfortunately, we didn’t have any extra time to site see and were too tired from the drive to even head into town for dinner. The night we got in, we stopped by a local grocery store, made dinner and went to bed. Parttttyy Animals.
The drive from Albuquerque to Dallas is a long one (about 10/11 hours), so we woke up way too early the next morning to get on the road. I think this was the most boring part of the trip, haha. But the sunrise leaving New Mexico was pretty sweet.
This is what the majority of the drive looked like. Exciting huh?
Paisley did get to see her first tumbleweed and it hit her right in the face when we took her out for a pee break. Haha. Too bad I didn’t get a picture or video of that!
The hubby started his new job today actually. It’s going to be a little strange for me to not be working for a few months until the kiddos arrive, but I am thankful I am able to enjoy some time off and relax before the real job begins. I started up at Pure Barre today so that made me feel more at home. I’m also planning on spending a lot more time with the blog and pursuing some freelance work, something I’ve wanted to do but was always put on the back burner when working full-time.
Once we are in new house I will be going crazy with decorating and I cannot wait. We have always lived in super tiny apartments and homes together, so having more space is going to be well, amazing!! I’ve been peeking at some blogs, Pinterest, and Etsy to get some ideas (and found myself still sucked in 2 hours later). The whole process is overwhelming, but I’ll going to try and take each room at a time and not do too much at once. Here’s some pics I have been swooning over.
I’ll probably hit up Home Goods and Target this week to see what they have and to compare pricing.
Alright that’s all for now. Enjoy the rest of your Monday!
