Dallas….here we come!

I may be away from the blog for couple of weeks because we are MOVING!!

Our lives are changing so quickly, but all in good ways so we are nothing but excited.  Once we get a little more settled I will fill you all in on the details. We have a great network of family and friends in Dallas, so that will make the transition much easier.

Can’t wait for our next chapter! 🙂

18 Weeks Update

  • Weighing almost 7 ounces
  • They are about 5 1/2 inches long and are the size of a bell pepper
  • The babes are very busy flexing their arms and legs (although I don’t feel it just yet)

And here’s what’s been happening with me this past week:

 bellypic(sorry the pic quality is not the best, we’ll get that figured out soon! 🙂 )

Total weight gain/loss: 7 lbs, I think?

Stretch marks? None 🙂

Sleep: Still wake up once a night to go to the restroom, but overall sleep has been pretty good.

Best moment this week: Knowing we get to find out the genders in a week :)

Miss Anything? Laying on my stomach comfortably. Oh and can’t forget not drinking wine.

Movement: Haven’t felt anything yet, but should soon!

Food cravings: Still hungry every few hours and still craving cheeseburgers the most. I wish I was craving vegetables or something healthier. Lol

Food aversions: The smell of tuna. Yuck.

Symptoms: Nothing much besides being hungry so often.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Maternity clothes? Still wearing my Bella Band with my regular work pants. No maternity shirts just yet, been wearing loose flowly tops for now. 🙂 This one has been my absolute favorite from Nordys. I want it in all the colors 🙂

Baby items purchased? None, I began the daunting process of making my baby registries. That sure is an overwhelming task. geez.

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy!

Funny moments this week: Me dropping something in my car and not being able to bend over all the way comfortably to pick it up. Woops.

Workouts: Still doing barre classes about 2x/week and going on 2-3 walk/jogs with Paisley. My doc said I could run as long as I’m not having symptoms and it’s comfortable….it’s beginning to feel a little awkward, so speed walking might be my go-to cardio soon.

If you’ve ever been pregnant when did you start wearing maternity clothes? Any go-to places I should know about? 🙂

20 Minute Pre-Natal Workout

Happy Monday Friends!

I’m excited to share my first Pre-natal workout! Since being pregnant I have become more fascinated about what we can do to keep active during this exciting time, as well as afterwards.  Exercises can still be challenging, fun, and creative too!

I’ve immersed myself in researching prenatal exercise tips and guidelines and it’s so interesting to me! I’m finding this to be something I’m extremely passionate and I want to pursue a pre-post natal certification. I’ve heard about the Fit For Birth Certification from some other bloggers and I’m leaning towards this one. Unless any of you fine friends have other suggestions for me??

I’m beginning to be more aware of how important posture, core and leg strength is going to be when the babes are here. My daily activities are going to revolve around squatting, reaching and lifitng: (reaching down to pick up toys, bending over a crib and putting them in their car seats). Getting these habits set in place now will absolutely help down the road.

This first workout is focused on quad, glute, posterior shoulder and posture strength. I hope you enjoy!

To Expland on my Discalimer in the About Me section: I am a CSCS, certified strength and conditioning specialist and am pursuing a pre/post natal exercise specialist certification. Before any exercise program, always get clearance from your MD. Throughout this workout you never want to breath too hard that you are unable to speak. If you feel dizzy or light headed stop and take a break.

Warm-up: High Knees- Brace abs, relax shoulders and lift knees up towards your chest. For added challenge add a shoulder press with the arms.

Plie Squats–  Feet are wider than hip width with toes pointing out slightly. Make sure knees are in line with your toes.

Bent Over Rows– 30 reps I used 5# wts.

Push-Ups- Can be performed on the floor, on the edge of the couch, or at a wall depending on your comfort.

Squat with Front Press– l used 4# weights.

Scapular Flys. I used 4# weights. Focus on pinching your shoulder blades together.

Posterior Lunges– Alternate legs, don’t let knee dip in or go past your toe.

Kneeling 45 degrees Arm Raises.  Don’t raise your arms above  shoulder height. Can perform standing or kneeling, if you need to rest your back. I used 4# weights.

Cat-Camel Stretch– 10x, pause at each direction

I’m a little sad the weekend is overwith 😦 but it was great ‘falling back’ and getting that extra hour and lounging around a little longer yesterday morning.

I have been a Real Housewives fan way before I moved to Los Angeles. I dorked out and got super excited when hubby said we should go eat here for dinner. The restaurant decor is super classy and it was so quiet inside, I loved the atmosphere.

Okay it’s been embarrassingly been over a month since I’ve been down to the sand (I know, woe is me). But I’m happy to report I biked down there and got some beach time in. 🙂

 Hubby and I woke up absurdly early on Saturday morning (6:15 to be exact, yikes). We wanted to beat the crowds and head up to Hollywood and hike Runyon Canyon. Everything in LA is always super crowded so I figured earlier would be better. And once we got home Paisley and I took a nap!

 This picture makes me laugh. We tried about 5 times to get Paisley to look towards the camera. She obviously had other things on her mind apparently. Lol.

The sun finally came out on our way back down.
